I think the paper was fair and I attempted all the questions. However, I think there were too many question to write essays on. I am dissapointed that we had only lecturer and he was unreachable. As for consistency semantics as was question whether we should learn this and as there were no answers I did went through it although my answer was not completely to the mark. In the exam tut letter nothing is mentionned concerning essay type questions. Moreover the past papers were based on the 6th edition of the prescribed book and this years exam is based on the 7th edition. Don't you think that it does make a difference. Any way the only lecturer for this module is unreachable and we cannot get any clarification and help from him. Goodluck for tommorow.by united - COS3216
I am very upset for this module. We have only 1 lecturer and he seems unreachable. I have not received a single response from him nor any clarification I asked for.by united - COS3216
I think the paper was fair enough and not very difficult except that I found the quicksort question very tough. I think I did better than the pastpaper for 2006. Hope to pass as it is the 3rd time am attempting the exams.by united - COS211X
I got the same answer for 1(b)(i) and shortest distance is good. Goodluck.by united - COS211X

I was attempting the question 14 in the programming exercises in the textbook on converting numbers from decimal to another base. How do we handle the case when after 9 we get A B C, etc in hexadecimal for example?by united - COS211X
Since the study guide refers to the last edition of the textbook my question is: Can we use the checklist at the end of each chapter in the study guide to master the material in the 7th edition of the textbook. Is it still valid? Clarificatons will be much appreciated thanks.by united - COS3216
Hi! does anybody know if we will get questions on the Knoppix Linux Operating System in the exams? Thanks.by united - COS3216
In fact I have noticed that we have not been awarded 15 bonus credit directly. The 15 bonus credit have been included in the maximum number of credits awarded for ass02. Instead of 50 the maximum credit was 65. However, I don not agree with the way it was done. The communication between lecturers and students was not clear. I do not agree because we cannot perform the same on all assignments.by united - COS211X
Thanks for your help. I will now tackle the question.by united - COS211X

Do we need to submit the partition and swap functions? From the question I understand that we should only submit the meansort function. Am I right or I have misunderstood? It seems that everyone has been able to do this question without any problem as no one seem to respond.by united - COS211X
Anyone already done the question on mean sort. Any tips on the partitioning part and how it differs. Pseudocode will be appreciated. Thanks.by united - COS211X
