smiling smiley

I just phoned unisa about my remark - I haven't heard a peep from them, anyhow, the woman starts shouting at me that I need to wait 2 months for results - so then I screamed back at her that I couldn't care less about the results, I just want to know if they are going to do the frikking remark.

so, I didn't even get to ask about how far my registration is, nor did I ask them to alter my registration because I am not allowed to do the one subject I wanted to..... tomorrow I can phone and scream at someone else *sigh*

The best explanation I have for why we can't register online so far is... "because that is how the system works"... sad smiley

I see someone else complained on hellopeter, so I decided to do the same. (They are listed as a company who responds but I am still not expecting an amazing response).

Anyway maybe if a large enough of people complain about the same thing on there we might manage to get through to someone sad smiley Or maybe I am just being optimistic...

Shouldn't it be "because that is how the system doesn't work" ?

I posted on hello peter. I see unisa stopped responsing to comments around 11 march - maybe they all went on holiday from that date onwards?

complaining on hello peter does work

they just phoned me

apprently there is a whole "enquiry" as to why web reg has been closed - it should never have been apparently.

also got better info on my remark (or the fact that I am not allowed to get one), but I can 'buy' my script

hmmmm.
Why are you not allowed to get one?
What happens when you "buy" a script?

Lady also phoned me but it sounded like she didn't know what she was talking about.

My money seems to have finally ogne through, now to figure out if they have registered that I want a remark ;/

apparently you need to get above 35% for a remark.. now I wonder if thats the final mark or the exam mark...

you need to phone them about the remark and find out that its on their system - then again when I phoned this mornign I was told it is there, but when the other lady phoned she said there is a note on the system for mine saying I can't get a remark.

I am not sure what buying my script involves - they will apparently explain that to me tomorrow.... when/if they phone back.

which one are you remarking?

how was inf417? was it open book? planning on doing it this year
avatar Re: re-registration

No it was not open book, are there any open book honours exams?
Lots of very open ended essay type questions where you are supposed to guess what they want you to say, and if they don't like your guess they seemingly fail you..

After the whole incident with the first assignment(mentioned eariler in this thread) I didn't do any assignments for it, So I can't really comment much on the assignements.
There are a few interesting articles you have to read (cathedral and bazaare), but for the most part I found the textbook rather boring(imho).

I ended up with a 38% mark for it though so I am hardly qualified to say. (Although once you add the 10% year mark I should have had I end up on 48% which is not as bad...)

Hi guys,

Just got a smart response from my query I sent to MyUnisa - here it goes:

Thank for making use of Unisa contact Centre.

Kindly go to nearest Unisa office for registration since you cannot do web registration.

Don't waste your time going to a regional office! I was at the Florida Campus in Roodepoort yesterday afternoon and was eventually sent to room 24. The lady in room 24 told me, "you can't register for B.Sc Honours here, you can only do that in Pretoria". Pity I didn't have a copy of the Services and Procedures with me to point out why I was disturbing her afternoon: there certainly are no exclusions listed (I checked).

My queries as to why this is the first year that registrations are not possible for us honours students kept being met with "because internet registrations have closed". She was quite insistent that the only way I could register was to drive through to Pretoria and do it personally there. That's simply too far to go for something I should be and always have been able to do electronically.

In desperation I've now faxed the registration form to the number given on the bottom corner and made an internet payment this morning. Has anyone else done this and achieved success yet?
