Whooo 44249608, running a bit late there !! Do you not have access to my_unisa then ? The instructions are on there. I'm not quite sure how access works when you are supplementing. Otherwise I can email the pdf to your mylife@unisa address ?

And do you see a import1.sql file in the root of your folder now ? The important things is that your database must be exported to a .sql file, that file must be renamed to import1.sql and the import1.sql must be in the root of your server - you should be able to physicly see it there when you browse the root. Also, it is case sensitive.

The players_id is not important when it comes to the database. (It might be important for getting player names though - depending on your code) What is important is the players names, because that is what the public will see on the fixtures public page. You need to have positions and fixture id's in your selections table
Selection_id, Fixture_id, Batsman1, Batsman2, Batsman3 etc.

48245194-docmedia - check the case sensitivity of your filenames, you are most likely hosting on a linux server, so the filename case sensitivity have to be exactly as they appear in the code. Also, check the other posts on the forum in connection with how to import/name your database on the server. That is all that I can suggest as you don't really tell us what is wrong ?

This usually happens when your page redirects to another page which then redirects back to the same page which then redirects back to the other page etc. causing an infinite loop. It could be something to do with a page in your internet cache too.
Try, downloading "ccleaner" (google for it - it is a small download) and use it to clean out all your browsers cookies AND cache. If that

I did exactly the same thing (with a minor difference) and I do not think it will be a problem. There are many different ways to code the team selection page and as long as it performs the function where the players gets added to the database under the correct positions along with the fixture id (so that the public_fixtures page works) then it should be fine.

You are going to have to be way more spesific than that. Saying something worked and now it doesn't gives us no indication whatsoever, as it could be one of a hundred things. If your login page displays correctly but nothing happens when you click submit it is most likely a databse issue. Or your code for the submit button isn't there/incorrect. Is the login page table in your database

Heh, didn't even notice the init thing. But in my case I seriously deleted and redid the tables with the same names and columns without altering the code and it worked :-s

Hi 77928490
I had the same problem with two of my three tables, way back when I started the portfolio. It would update or insert into the first column but none of the rest. After quite an amount of struggling I simply deleted and re-did the tables in the database, and then it just worked. (I didn't change any of my code) I honestly believe this is a bug in mysql somewhere.

Things to check:
1. Make sure the exported database is a .sql file and not something else like a csv or comma delimited file.
2. The exported database needs to have a specific name, I can't remember exactly now but I think it was import1.sql
3. This import1.sql needs to be uploaded to the /root of your server.
Once that file is on the root of you server the import function should fi

You can also try to set variables at the beginning of the <?php (this might not be needed depending on your code structure, but might as well do it anyway for testing purposes)
for instance:
$name_value = "";
$surname_value ="";
and so forth
Then before you do the update, transfer the POST values to your variables:
$name_value = $_POST['name']

Hi
Mac already answered another student with more or less the same question. The bad news is, I think the test here is to see if we can use logic to do everything on one page, so using other pages is a big no-no. The good news is, Mac told the student you don't have to follow the sample code given, and you can code the page any way you want. So if you find the sample code confusing, at le

Also, regardless of whether I use a "view players" link or append (.) values and use the whole "Opponents, date, venue" as a link, the coding and the results will be the same for what happens when the use click on the link.

What I did was to show all the fixtures in a table - like the list players page, and then next to each fixture have a href link that says "view players". Sort of like the edit/delete links next to the players on the list players page.
