Call me daft but for days I've been trying to understand the first part of the documentation. I don't know what's going on there. Could you please explain the first part of it(before the steps)

No not the introduction. Just under the Installation New headline. Unless that's just an explanation of the steps.

If so, could you please explain the steps to me. It talks about databases and stuff, where do we find the items mentioned in those steps?

Oh, in the prac documentation....!

That has been done for you on our server. Use the tut letter steps first, then refer to Admin guide and the Catalog part of the documentation to help you understand the admin and catalog configuration.
