Good afternoon, Simple enquiry ,

Can we not just use the php function for this?
Or are we meant to do it the manual way, I do know how to do it (its rather simple), Was just interested if we would lose marks ?

Manual way as per the hints provided. The focus is on logic and flow control statements.
