The problem was with my file name. I named my file index.php and only after changing the name to index1.php i was able to access it.

confused smiley It was suppose to work with index.php as well. Did you replace that index.php file?

The web root of localhost (the htdocs folder in the case of XAMPP) already contains a index.php file, which is use to present, the XAMPP interface when one visits http:// localhost

Therefore one should rather create a sub directory under htdocs to save and run files in e.g. myfiles, then run it with http: // localhost/myfiles/file.php

I also had a problem where I couldn't accesshttp://localhost, I checked my web service and noticed the service is not starting due to another application using port 80.
I discovered that Skype uses port 80. After quiting/exiting Skype everything worked perfectly. Just thought I'd share this with the group.

This is not enough information. Where did you upload it and how did you call it? Did you read through the forum for possible solutions?

I tried uploading it via the freewebhostingarea but the www/my_folder is empty.
I can only see what is in the folder through the local web on easy php. When
I access it through the local their is a lock sign on the page.

Your localhost on your PC is not linked to FWHA, it is two different servers.

It must be in the root folder on FWHA that is presented when you upload files to be seen with your full FWHA URL.

See http://www.technokids.com/documents/support/technohtml.pdf
