So I've started on my portfolio(finally).. My question(may be a silly one) is: can I have an index.php page aswell to welcome visitors and explain the site, or should I just keep to the 7 pages specified in the requirements.

I submitted my index.php page with everything as it explains the site, and also holds the links to the connect.php page code and my stylesheet for viewing purposes.
