I see that Gantt Charts have been asked in previous exams... are our Gantt charts supposed to look like the figure on pp184 of the textbook or the one on pp197? The one on page 197 is described as merely a bar graph, but it has the format of a Gantt chart and is applicable when referring to an activity on node diagram (like the ones given in the previous exam papers) as it indicates the total float of each activity.

The one on page 197 doesnt show dependencies, just when project activities have been planned to begin. Page 184 shows the Gantt chart with dependencies.

I think the chart as on page 197 is for when you represent activity diagrams with the associated resource histogram, and the one on page 184 is more for when you are wanting to track workflow(Eg. How much time has been spent on each activity).

Depending on what information is provided for the question, you may be able to do one but not the other.
