Mac, this is me being LAZY 
in student reg i made all the validating for the form
now is it necessary to do all that in the editing of a student? (done 50% of it so far)
and i dont see why an admin would make a name : 11111111

I am just as lazy which is why I do not want you to do validation like telephone numbers (it is not PHP anyway). And yes, I will enter "aaaaaaaaaaaa" to test 
Strictly speaking you should of course do validation, but it is not required. I am interested in your logic and PHP code, not whether the postal code is correct and the ID has 13 numbers.

It is why my validation is in the form of a function, so I can re-use it whenever the form is presented.
My actual pages are very short...but my functions page is quite long...
I only check if each field is filled in, and if the ID field is numeric. Other than that, you can fill in what you want
