Hi
In our textbook it says that =\= is sued to compare if 2 terms are not equal to one another - I tried this in the version of prolog we were supplied with but it doesn't work. Is this because =\= is specifically for algebraic comparisons?
I did find that \= = does the job....

Hi Celene
I also noticed that =\= only seemed to work with numerical terms. In amzi's examples I saw \= used for not equal. That worked for me.
Regards
Shaun.

The various kinds of equality and comparison are discussed on page 160.
