got totally screwed in the exams.
the questions were given beforehand, so how can one not do well in this?

Work through the material first, then think about what you still need to understand.
I did 420 last year - my advice is to read as much as you can about the subject - go to the library, get some books, go to the online library and download articles from ACM (journals) on HCI, and just keep at it.

I am happy to answer direct questions to assist - just post here and I will do my best - doing my Project Module on HCI this year.
