C++ and Qt programmers
July 23, 2014 11:46AM
Tubecon (based in Rosslyn, Pretoria) is looking for University students/graduates who are exceptional C++ and Qt programmers. If you have completed COS2614 and COS3711 at Unisa (or similar modules at another Tertiary institution) and have excelled in these programming modules, you are requested to send in your CV to Mr Roland Tollenaar (r.tollenaar@tosec.nl). Note that the company is looking for programmers of above average programming ability.

Given below are the words of Mr Roland Tollenaar about Tubecon

Tubecon is part of a family owned group of companies with sister companies in the Netherlands and in Germany. We process steel into tube, open profile and sheet metal components. A lot is customer specific and all is with short lead times.

To enhance our ability to cope with the information complexity inherent to our processes we have developed our own machine control systems and our own business information system. The latter is designed to be a bolt-on to any ERP system in the market, featuring an abstraction layer which allows us, without modification to our own system, to link to almost any third party package.

Our software has allowed to become 50% - 70% more efficient in many areas of our business compared to what is achievable with the mapckages on the market. The intention is to take our own software to market in the future also. In any event, the software runs at all our companies.

The demands on genericness and performance we place on our modules make the challenge. Apart from the fact that the problems themselves are often very hard to tackle. We have found that it takes programmers of above average ability to help us move forward.

Hoping that more of these may be found amongst your students.
