Are you a computer science or web design student looking for applied work experience with significant CV potential? Are you interested in the environment and social justice, and keen to contribute to a student-driven network of young environmentalists from Southern Africa?
The BlueBuck Network is looking for an IT Manager to initially set up and then maintain a professional-looking website for the 2012-2013 year. This involves building the site and managing it over the course of the year, by updating the content regularly, and ensuring there are no ‘bugs’.
The BlueBuck Network is a non-profit, umbrella organisation connecting youth environmental initiatives across Southern Africa. Our main focus is on building a network and a platform for young environmentalists to share experience and resources. Our website is vital as it enables us to fulfill this function, as well as attract sponsors and international partnerships.
Applicants should fulfill the following criteria:
-be younger than 30 years of age
- know HTML, CSS and at least one CMS preferably Drupal, Joomla or at least WordPress
- be studying toward a qualification in Computer Science or webdesign
- have web-design knowledge, experience or skills
Please note that this position, like all the positions on the BlueBuck Network committee, is
voluntary and
unpaid, but the potential to contribute to something big and exciting, as well as the experience gained, is worth it.
Please submit a CV and motivation letter to
admin@bluebucknetwork.org by 23 November 2012 and contact Breanne Robb at the same address for more information.
