• 2+ years’ Product ( Java ) specific experience- essential
• Data Modeling skills- preferred
• Object-orientated techniques
• J2EE Architecture experience [EJB, XML, Servlet API, Design patterns, JSP & JMS]- essential
• Experience on an Oracle platform- preferred
• Systems design experience- essential
• Some exposure to the Life Insurance industry would be useful, or at least some experience in a corporate financial environment

Key Purpose To develop & implement appropriate and efficient Discovery Life systems according to provided specifications, standards and procedures, using various tools and languages but within the architectural standards and guidelines as established within Discovery to obtain optimal systems performance.

• Ensure that unit testing is conducted successfully accordingly to the functional specification document, user requirements and test pack.
