Asking questions here - a must read!

Please help us students - if you ask questions here (and in emails), be more specific about your problem....

Here are the two most common problems we experience which makes it virtually impossible to provide you with any support:

The username you chose for this forum is, for example, totally unrelated to your student folder. Your student folder is abcdefg, but here you are DomPedro. Then you ask us why the code in your student folder is not working - we have no idea which student folder on Osprey is yours, so we cannot look at your code to see, for example, if the images are where your code say they are!

We also receive many repetitive questions per email, which is why we prefer you to post your questions here on this forum so that we do not have to repeat solutions over and over. Don't be ashamed to ask questions here!

And please read the forums - a question you are asking may have been asked and answered already. If you are serious about web design, then know you will be making use of forums throughout your career. And her eis a tip for the future - on forums you should not just be asking questions - you should also try to answer a few if you can! That is how forums work - on some forums people will stop answering your questions if they pick up that you never provide support to other users.

So please help us to provide you with the support you require by making it easy for us - remember Unisa has close to 300 000 students, and we do not know them all by name smiling smiley

Oh, lastly, use the 4th button on the toolbat to create HTML code tags like this
[ code="html4strict" ] [ /code ]
which will ensure that your HTML code is displayed properly on these forums.

You can then type or paste your code inbetween these tags e.g:

[ code="html4strict" ]
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN">
[ /code ]

will result in this

Language: HTML
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN">   Thank you for reading this :)
