Hi

I too am awaiting the study material. But am following TvD forum posts.

By the way anyone here doing internet design for the first time? I have a question, which one is more preferred: Expression Web or Dreamweaver. I been using Expression Web, but the layout between the two is similar.

Another thing is, will be learning how to create forums and blog sites, such as this and Wordpress, etc? That is kinda what gets me stuck, oh and designing Logo's, they take forever.

I'm doing Internet Design for the first time, but I'm worried about getting the 6 chapters in my head. I'd say go for Dreamweaver, most people use that.

What happens when you don't write exam in the first half of the year, do you just automatically roll over to the next exam?

Read assignment3.pdf in your assignments folder on your cd - it explains hown you should choose between DW and EW:

The Microsoft programs (i.e. Expression Web or FrontPage) are recommended for those students that are unfamiliar with Web page construction and editors (for example if you had major problems in completing the JavaScript components for assignment 2 then you would be better off using Front Page). The industry standard is however Dreamweaver - if you are going to work in the Web industry that is what you will most likely use

The course must be completed in one semster unfortunately - but if you are worried about the pre-assignment and first assignment dates there is not problem with an extension of about two weeks - just send an email to Christa prinscj@unisa.ac.za and explain that your assignment will be late..

Will do Carica. Thanks!

Don't stress with the chapters once you start they will upload smile in you head. grinning smiley

Ever done a webpage before?

Did you manage to get a good price on the Dreamweaver book. I noticed Adobe themselves sells it much cheaper, depending on the exchange rate. haven't ordered it yet though.

By the way, have you started the first assignment?

No Sameer, I haven't , will be my first time, and I haven't bought my Dreamweaver book yet, I know they are available at Exclusive Books. How far are you with your studies?
And I haven't started my first assignment yet, I'm busy with my 4th chapter now.

For those of you going to use dreamweaver for the first time. If you click on help in dreamweaver it should take you to adobe's site. There is a lot of helpfull things there not covered in the textbooks.

Hey everybody

I have never done any webpage developing. This is my first time and I am very exited!
I am thinking of doing my webpage in HTML not using Dreamweaver or any other package.

Does anybody know how much the package costs for Dreamweaver?

Hey Everyone

AV - I checked on the pricing , u can pick one up for about five hundred. Carica , I am also new to this and feel a tad intimidated by the content but hey why not take a challenge for 2010 thumbs up smiley
I did find however ,it is easier to answer each one of the assignment questions as u do each chapter, all remains fresh in the head.

Jacques

When you are on the home page: http://cs-cert.unisa.ac.za/internet/, go to "Assignments" and Click on "Download Tutorial letter 101". In the "zip" file open "First tutorial letter" and Section 8 describes the Pre-assignment.

Hope this helps!
