Hi all.

What are you using to draw the bar chart and resource histogram for Q3.2?

Excel did the trick for me. Made the colloums narrow and merged groups of 5 to form a week, then just changed the background colours.

I did the same. Just set the column width to be 1, then I used 7 days to make a week. I've stated that the assumption is that work continues 7 days a week, as this is done in some other examples, but I doubt there will be any difference in marks if you go 5 day weeks or 7 day weeks. It's then fairly easy to make the histogram beneath, as you can just add up and shade in the appropriate amount of resource.

To make it simple to get into the assignment document I just took a screen shot and cropped it, then pasted that into the Word document that contained the rest of my assignment. I wouldn't risk cutting and pasting direct from Excel as the Unisa printer can seriously screw up formatting when it hits anything remotely complicated...

I embedded an Excel spreadsheet into my Word document, converted the Word document to a PDF, zipped it and then submitted it.
Tested the pdf on my printer and it worked fine.

Hie Guys

How did you guys calculate qtn 1.2 cause I was getting huge figures for the effort. I used the formula on page 121 of the book then substituted values of c and k for each system(A to E).

Thanks
