Q29 and Q36 of Ass. 1

I sent the following e-mail to INF303@osprey.unisa.ac.za but haven't had a reply as yet (got a read receipt from one of the lecturers though - unprofessional don't you think!

Please have a look at the following questions in assignment 1 (unique number 859003) – the answer in the results sheet differs to the answer in tutorial letter 201:
• Question 29 – The results sheet says the correct answer is option 4 whereas tutorial 201 says the correct answer is option 3
• Question 36 – The results sheet says the correct answer is option 3 whereas tutorial 201 says the correct answer is 4

Please advise what the correct answer is for these questions.

Has anyone else made this observation? My answers to these two questions are the same as tutorial letter 201 but they were marked wrong. If tutorial letter 201 is correct, I'm being robbed of two marks which could be the deciding factor of me passing or failing the exam.

Yes I have noticed that the Assignment results (in tut 201) are different to the Assignment questions in many questions, and Yes it is very unprofessional that you don't get a response.
As far as I can see, the following questions are the problem questions:
2, 5, 6, 7,8,9,10,14,29,31,34,35 and 36. (For ques 5-10 some of them are just numbered differently)

Co-incidentally, some of the answers are the same even though the questions are different, but in the case of the 2 you were asking about, the results sheet is correct and not the answers in Tut 201.

For question 29, Answer 4 in the question is "None of the above" which is the correct answer, see pages 250/1 of the textbook. The answer in tut 201 is incorrect.

For question 36, Tut 201 shows a completely different question. The correct answer is 3-Transitive Dependency, see page 254 of the textbook. The answer in tut 201 is possibily correct for that question, but it's a different question to the assignment!

All very confusing, but it seems like the assignments have been marked correctly.

I will also email the lecturers and I will let you know if I get a response.

Hi, I'm doing revision by going through the assignments at the moment.. and I have encountered this same issue - with the solution questions not matching up to the questions in Tut 101.
If anyone is able to pass on the correct questions and answers to the assignment - please reply.
