Hello guys,
Can someone please help me out on this? According to the tutorial letter,
W3 = W2 + c(d2-f2)X2
i.e W3 = [0 0 0 1] + 1(0-1)[0 1 1 1]
which I think should be equal to [0 -1 -1 0].
But W3 in the tutorial letter is [0 -1 -1 -1] .
I would be glad to get a prompt response to this.

Yes,

I agree with you, cause [0 0 0 1] + [0 -1 -1 -1] = [0 -1 -1 0]

Maybe there's a mistake in the tutorial letter?

Yes I also found that quite a number of the "answers" that were given contained errors. I'm sure that the table for the Alpha Beta search for assignment 2 has a mistake or two in it.

Thanks guys, but I think its a mistake because the W3 as set out in the tutorial letter was used to calculate W4 and therefore changed the whole calculations.I got a totally different answer when I used the correct W3 in my calculations,and that makes me feel there is something am doing wrong...

There are no mistakes, the alpha beta is correct, use the formula in the texbook to resolve. That is for C to be teh cut It's min value is less than the alpha value of three hence it is a beta cut.
