Found this on example 2.4 and I'm not sure if it's an error or not.
The following shows that the number (11001)
2
in binary is the same as 24 in decimal. The subscript 2 shows that the base is 2.
.....(visual calculation here.)
Note that the equivalent decimal number is
N
= 16 + 8 + 0 + 0 + 1 = 25.
My understanding is that 24 < 25 so the above statement can't be true.
