Linux anti-virus
January 05, 2009 02:47PM
As a linux user, I thought I was free of virus hassles. I plugged my memory stick into a windows machine and it was infested with win32 viruses and worms. ugh. So now, to keep it tidy, I'm downloading Avast for linux. sigh.
Windows users beware: don't let a linux user stick any old thing into your box without you inspecting it thoroughly first!

That worm wouldn't run on a Linux box. You must have transferred the file from a windows machine. Win32 is a windows executable.

Yes, unless it were a Linux one which while few and far between do exist.

Actually, the "it" in his original complaint is quite ambiguous.
