Is that 30 weekdays (including Sunday, Saturday) or is it 30 work days Monday to Friday?

If I take leave mon to fri then it's 5 days off my leave. If I take leave from tues to tues then it counts as 7 days off my leave. So whether I feather my leave into components or dovetail them into one long leave, is up to me (and if my employers allow me to take off). Labour law says my leave cycle is 12 months, so I should use my leave or lose it. One can't accumulate leave or exchange it for payment (I think..)

Tazzie Wazzie - Don't you pay allot of tax when you exchange leave for pay? Hmmmm I love my holidays way toooooo much than to loose it!!

I'm thinking of a nice quiet weekend next to the breederiver or the west coast!

Some companies allow you to accumulate leave for a maximum of 2 years. Also, leave can be exchanged for payment - Sanlam is one of the places you can do this.

Somewhere quiet. Maybe the Eastern Transvaal (Mpumalanga), -> Sabie or Magoebaskloof.

There are some great trails there, Andre. The Prospectors trail and Fanie Botha trail in Sabie. And the Magoebaskloof hike is not for the unfit. Both are fantastic.

I spent a week in Underberg and it was fantastic!
Re: Holiday Destinations

Thanks Rick. I've done the Fanie Botha 4 or 5 times, it really is an awesome area.
I'm looking forward to taking my kids there for their first "big" hike.
I'll be doing the Pilgrim's Rest MTB challenge in a couple of weeks, which if I'm not mistaken, does follow or cross paths with the Prospectors Trail.

Mmm .. well I got 32 days of leave available (17 days per year) so that means I could take off 6 weeks if I wanted too.

But this year I'm soooo broke that I'm not going anywhere. Will stay at home for a week an play on my PS2 or try and finish FarCry & FarCry2

I'm staying home since all the holiday places are overrun with kids (and there is nothing like having a Jhb 6 lane freeway to yourself in the middle of the afternoon!), but I have a whole set of favourite places around Warmbaths. Close enough to be 2 hours away, but enough in the bush so that the bushbabies and warthogs pop in for tea.
