Task 4C – 1

This website actually is dedicated to showing out all the things that you should not do. Like too much colour, too much movement…

When you open the site you don’t know where you are, the name is written the same font and size as all the other writing. You are not sure where the links are or where they will lead. The site is too busy, it’s cramped up with pictures and they used all the colours you can think of. It’s also very bed that you have to scroll down forever to get to the bottom.
As a customer if I would land on a site like this, I would try to get out of it as soon as possible. When entering the site you’re not sure where you are or where to go next.

Since they have a variety of products I would make a link “products” whit a sub-link to all the different products. I would use a lot less colours for a cleaner look. A separate “contacts” link will also help, then they can put all they’re contact numbers together and not all over the place like it currently are.

Everything is lift aligned like a summary you would write. They phone number isn’t even next to the writing. There are to much distracting movement. It’s not clear what the purpose of the site is.

As a customer I would rather find the second closest Police Station. This looks very unprofessional.

I would make a nice header where you can see where you are; maybe put a photo or two on the home page. I would also put the Emergency number at the top where it is the first thing you see when entering the site. The link should also be clearer so you immediately know where to go to find the information you need.

The worst thing about this site is that you look at a blank white screen for the first minute after entering the site, I had this problem with a internet connection that is quite fast, I do not even want to think about a costumer trying to get on this site with a dial-up connection. Once again the page is very long, so you tend to loose interest. There are way to many links, and the link are spread all over the page, some at the top, some in the middle and a couple at the bottom as well.
As a customer I would be so confused on where to go. The site is not very user-friendly and waiting a long time every time you open a link really makes you lose interest.
Since this is a Real Estate site I would put some photo’s of houses on the site, especially the home page. Your home page is the first page the client sees, if he likes it he will look around on the site, if it’s boring and not neat he will simply move on to the next site. It is very important to keep your site user-friendly even for the guy who has only basic internet knowledge.
