Please view the message MySql - the Solution posted by R Netshikweta on the MyUnisa discussion forum for COS114X.
Also set the Delphi PATH variable to include the directory/folder with the MySQL code.

i'm using mysql on win xp.

I found this soultion on the net:

go into c:\mysql\bin and right click the "mysqld" file and choose run as.

choose the "current user" option and press ok.
