I agree, it is so easy to say whatever one wants, and think an apology fixes everything....sometimes one should not accept an apology, as it lets the perpetrator off the hook too easy, it is only for their guilt in anyway...

Lastly, tea — unless one is drinking it in the Russian style — should be drunk without sugar. I know very well that I am in a minority here. But still, how can you call yourself a true tealover if you destroy the flavour of your tea by putting sugar in it? It would be equally reasonable to put in pepper or salt. Tea is meant to be bitter, just as beer is meant to be bitter. If you sweeten it, you are no longer tasting the tea, you are merely tasting the sugar; you could make a very similar drink by dissolving sugar in plain hot water. -- G Orwell

So there I was. A co-promoter for a Taiwanese M-student way back in 92. His whole family saved money to send him to SA to obtain his Masters. Promoter gets a CD-player (huge then), and I get a tin of tea. Ceremonially handed over to me, I promptly insisted he makes us some there and then. No sugar, the promoter whispers in between drooling onto his CD-player. Apparently an insult to tea in his culture (Ilan, you are Taiwanese....). Small cups (well, big coffee cups with small amounts). This guy refused to upset his clock and we had meetings after 10 in the evenings. So I drank his tea, all the time wondering about the caffeine content since it is my sleeping time. I duly complimented the (boorish) taste, not wanting to upset guys like him and Ilan. Each compliment is followed by a prompt refill. So the tea-drinking session continues ad infinitum, ad nauseous until the promoter whispers me that unless I decline, they'll refill. So "Thank you" in Taiwanese, when it concerns food or drink, is akin to saying "re-fill her up, buddy".

I still have the remainder of the tin left. You want it, I'll send it COD. The tin is worth a lot, if you don't drink tea.

Should Tracey have apologized? I don't think so.
Tracey should not have reacted to Ilan's insult, but his insult was uncalled for.
And who gives a shit whether or not the f&*$ing apology was accepted or not.

But getting back to tea, Early Gray is very nice with a quarter of a fresh medium sized lemon squeeezed in to it after boiling water has been poured onto the tea leaves.

Foulmouthed - well yes I quess I'm guilty of that, there is no use in denying it. Everybody has a vice or 2, and being slightly foulmouthed is one of mine, along with aggression and anger management issues.
