STS1055 093 Passed
COS112V 071 Passed

I'm really thrilled about the stats - now I feel SOOOO much more cleverer than last week.

Next year its visual programming (which I'm hoping isn't too difficult), Systems design (which I hope is interesting) and computer organisation (which I'm dreading).

I should choose a 4th but I need something really easy. Has anyone done Internal Auditing 202 yet?

I have, not so easy in my book; big thick white SAICA textbook.
Re: Examination Results
December 03, 2007 05:22PM
Thanks Cameron - that doesn't sound easy. Even though I only need 51% for it.

It seems like an odd choice for the IT management stream when there are so many other useful management subjects around. I wish they gave me some choices.

When the marks are in, they are in. Trust me, marks don't just go in to be in.... a LOT happens to marks (lecturer side) before they go on the system (Unisa side), and once they are on the Unisa side, it's pretty set lecturer side.... so provisional, as far as I am concerned, is a buzz word. When I hand in my marks, I'm happy with my marks, and sleep well at night, knowing that those who passed passed. I know the marks captured by me (on our marks capturing system - which is pretty cool and fool-proof) is what is used to release the marks. However, some marks are captured by data capturers, so provisional is maybe a sensible approach to follow

I thought so too, but also appreciate the value of understanding basic audit concepts and approaches.

Goodness gracious - how on earth did you do that many [difficult] subjects in one year! Did you get any sleep?

I was commenting on Malcolm's post when he said you can check your paper with a lecturer.

As far as I know, you can only do this at the main campus in Pretoria.

nope, all sorts of heavy levies because i emigrated.

thing is, i got absolutely nothing from them here in nz until today, one moerse bill that came in two parts, in two seperate envelopes. they de-reg'd me for all my courses, then re-reg'd me and somehow in the process R2090 was found short.

@lycium

Some of the things they do in their admin department defies logic!

They charged me R120 for changing one module from June to November. Why charge me this in November and not in June, I thought I already paid for it? Stupid!

What is really crap is that you have to wait for them to sort it out and that could take ages. Even if you decide to just pay it by credit card it's still going to take a week. Hope you get it sorted out quickly. thumbs up

Do you guys know when we can expect the Maths prelim results?
Re: Examination Results
December 04, 2007 10:35AM
No, I have got one of my maths marks back, waiting for two more.
I emailed the lecturer and asked when the marks will be out but no response.

I also didn't do that well with cos201 last year. It's easier to do the assignments as you have plenty of time, the exam is very rushed and forces one to make mistakes.

Repeated Cos101 & Cos201 - hope I don't "repeat history" with Cos301 as well. Found Cos201 a bit better than Cos101 - didn't like the handbook of Cos101.

In the handbook they used 1001 words to describe a concept that could be described in 20 words. Also, I found the additional CD you could purchase on Relations (I think) utterly useless.
