hi there

i have registered on the internet on 8th january but there is such a backlog that it hasn't been processed yet. spoke to the lady in charge of admissions who confirmed this is so. however i am hoping to start on assignment 1 asap as i will have no time. could someone mail me ass 1 so i can get started. borrowed a friends copy of last years textbook and have got to page 75 so far. interesting

Found it on my.unisa.... things seem to be scattered around a bunch this year - half the subjects are usisa osprey and the others not. chaos.

I also tried to register on 8 january, then changed stuff in feb and then again on 8 march when results came out and I was registered by 12 march... maybe thats cause I phoned them?

I am still waiting as well :-( ... tried phoning a few times but since I'm from overseas it isn't really financially viable to sit for hours listening to their call centre music!

i also ended up phoning everyone i could... and then got registered after that... but that was the 20th.

you could also try writing to the registrar. he is responsible for student service.

I got no response from emailing post-scientia :-(. Sounds like they are only processing registrations if you manage to get someone on the phone long enough to do it while they speak to you - it's absurd. If I wasn't half way through Honours I would have given up long ago.

Wow - yesterday I sent the message, today I am registered! That was fast! Thanks for the tip!

Now that the administrative challenges have been overcome, on to the far more interesting challenge of getting 6 first assignments in by the 10th May...

I am also getting a bit panicky seeing as the due date for first assignments for all courses is the beginning of May...

I'll start studying in them mean time. Have asked the lecturer for tut 101, will get the book and start.

When i phoned the local UNISA branch they said i musn't panic, some people have been waiting since December to register. That instills a lot of confidence...
