co3114 exam: Get and put your notes here
September 23, 2007 08:17PM
hi there,

to help everyone through this subject,i thought we should help each other by contributing to a document with your notes and tips.

I've created an email account cos3114@gmail.com and will be emailing my notes to that address. if you want to contribute, then just download the document, make your changes and email the document back to that address - cos3114@gmail.com

password for the mail acount is "goodluck" (wihout the quotes).

please save the format of the document in a format that we all can use. I suggest Microsoft Word 95 *.doc

please dont change the password , else no one can access the mail account.

Please check the account daily to get the latest updates

cheers
jk

This is a great idea, but may i suggest using google docs for this? There is an option to go to google docs when you are logged into gmail. Top left.

There. I did it for you. Under Jaques Koorts. Maybe you want to control access to this collaboration by inviting interested ppl through Google? As it stands now, anyone can log in as you and make a mistake.

this is my summary for Chap 14:

Chapter 14
XML (dont think there will be much asked here)
SAX is event parsed based (event driven) – pushed (parse line for line, and throws events on tags). Use the Observer Pattern here?)
DOM is pull parser (whole xml doc loaded in mem). Use the Visitor pattern when working with DOM.
Most of time when using XML you use an external parser like SAX. If you want to change the XML tree, use DOM, if we want fast parsing use SAX.
