Exam paper format

Does anyone have an idea what the exam paper will look like? Will there be any multiple choice questions or typical "Section A" short theoretical questions?

Nope, don't think so. If you look at each solution tut 201-204, they have questions from the 2006 exam and if you put them all together you'll get a good idea of the format of the exam to expect.....

This is the second time I'm writing this paper. The reason is that I love to write it so much. If I remember correctly, the questions are all like the problems we get in the textbook. Don't do what I did 2 years ago -> cram for the exam trying to absorb the theory. I scored a solid 20% for that (non) effort. I'm preparing for this exam by doing every problem in the study guide and comparing my solutions.
Good luck.

Thanx, guys. I suppose I can then ignore chapter 1...

I'm in the same situation as Rick and can confirm - practice as much as you can - you'll basically just have "sums"/diagrams.

I agree, if you can master the exercises in the text book, the assignment questions and the 2006 exam fairly good, you should be ok. The theory is just the background to the rest......

I'm currently working through the 2006 exam.....

What sections are you battling with?
I had been struggling with Kleene's Theorem but last night I went through the section a few times, did the example for myself and it finally clicked.

I know this might sound stupid, but proving the k+1 part and problems like nr. 8(b) of ch. 3 on induction get the better of me. Also the reasoning behind question 7 of assignment 1 is just not a natural way of reasoning for me. Will it be required in the exam to know each theorem by number?

I think I need to go back to Chapter 3 and look over the induction stuff again, I don't remember it.
