CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN THIS PLEASE??

On display 10.5, (Walter Savitch Sixth Edition), member functions like (get_balance) and (get_rate) seem to do nothing on this program. I commented them out and ran the program still works fine!!
Can Anyone explain this please??

In the main function, the member functions get_balance and get_rate were not used, therefore you don't see the need for it. However, it does not mean that these functions are not necessary - it just means - they were not utilized by the client program. Note, objects are designed to be reusable, perphaps in another context, the user of the object may want to invoke these functions.
