PERSONAL PROFILE: PROF CORNE VAN STADEN

ABOUT Corne J van Staden
Corne van Staden (also referenced as CJ van Staden) is a senior lecturer in the School of Computing at the University of South Africa. Her research interests include aspects of Human-Computer Interaction, the use of technology in  Education especially eModeration (moderation of electronic examination scripts) as well as eLearning and mLearning. Currently the focus is on mobile technologies in schools in SA, eLearn environment relating to indigenous knowledge in Namibia and eModeration implementation in schools.

Corne van Staden has been employed as lecturer, dean of IT at a private higher education institution and senior lecturer,  researcher and postgraduate supervisor.

Research Interests

Currently her research activity is focused on three distinct areas which comprise:

(a) the user experience and accessibility of mobile phones for teachers and school children in SA  schools,

(b) eModeration technology adoption and acceptance in higher education institutions and schools, and

(c) indigenous knowledge preservation using e-learning and m-learning.

These fields may seem diverse but they converge in the goal of  investigating the optimal use of technology for knowledge transfer to and between humans.
