Hi.
I have done a usability report on online share trading Website. The Supervisor is cool, and very helpful.
I busy submitting my project toady, and what a relief. After 8 years of studies it is all coming to an end, at least for now. What an awesome journey.
Best of wishes for all of you, as this is probably my last post ever!
Thanks for everyone that helped me to get to this point, and

I cannot belief it! I passed with 63% My exam mark was 53%, and thought I stressed so much for nothing. Just glad it is all over now. One round of this module was enough for me

Same here! It was horrible. It took me about five minutes to pull myself together and to start tacklling the exam. Likely I did all the past exam papers and most of the assignment work. It really gave me something to work on. Question 4 was not cool. 20 marks is so much to ask about something that was never handled in the assignment or in previous exams. The last question was OK because it consis

Security is these days a very important concept, and the sad part is that you must do honours to get acedemic exposure in this field for the very first time. You only receive a broad set of definitions of everything. I'm not yet an expert in this field, but I also feel it can expand seriously to really cover the topic from both sides. i.e splitting it into INF and COS modules. It's sad

I wrote COS430 last year, and it was hell. To study all 900 pages are freaken mad! And to mention the price of the module, also freaken more mad!
I'm not sure about the module's layout this year. I hope its beter than mine. I managed to pass it on 59% first time . So don't think for one minute it is not possible. Good luck to you, and hope all goes well. In my opinion if you do r

As far as I know you can use a pencil. I used a pencil in a few exams over the seven years at UNISA. Including this year, I think I used one in COS408, and INF418 (on that tedious B+trees). I need to start final prep for this exam from tomorow. Written so far five exams, luckily there is enough time left for this one, and only this one.

This exam was more than I could have handled. Some of the questions I couldn't even write a decint answer. I have manage to scrap enough marks together that can qualify for a pass.
Just to make sure, I'm busy checking up a few of the questions asked that were too weird to be true. In particular, the one question, regarding physical security, I have a problem with. The only section in

Hows the exam prep coming along? Looks like this can be a tuff one. There is so much from which the lecturers can pick, and through at us. Luckily, there is a question or two that I think we can get. I'll put my mola on Kerberos, and configuration management, maybe a lattice too (I hope so - easy marks). There will be short, easy pop-qiuzz questions too that will help definitely to scrap som

I would love to share, but the problem is you must be a good crypto-analysist to decypher my bad hand writing. Even I struggling sometimes to figure out what I have written.

Dude! That is wicked cool
I see some of us has a lot of time (or nerve, which either way ) to write a note for the lecturer in the exam in a universal language to infer that an error could have logically occured based on the derivation from the premises (of nothingless).

Well, todays exam . . . I wish every exam that I have to write can be esay as this one! The paper was fair. Here and there a fague question, especially SQL. I had to double check my coding just to make sure I didn't make any foolish mistake, or missing something too obvious. Busy with final prep for cos408. Likely I had an easy one to write just before tacking a huge one the day after. It g

I think we new to draw the trees as in the assignment. The lecturers were to lazy to draw them! I guess . It does althought stipulate to "show the B+tree that would result." I will not take I chance - I will draw it rather

@Cherokee. I saw the notice regarding supps. That is great! To wait for a year to try again is really not lekka.
I have written only a handful of sups in my life, and I have passed them all. Everytime when you go through your work the second time, thoroughly at least, you are really starting to get it. Like COS405, and COS408 last year. Failed both of them, but would definitely have passed them

I wrote the module today. Damn! It is so difficult to write so fast. This was brute force writing at its best! Used every minute, and finished in the nic of time
My first essay I wrote 2 days ago, just to realize that most of them is to big, and I all scaled them down that nigth. I went though those eassays about 10 times in 7 days. I also knew them of by hard, some of them were a

I hope my 40% is rigth, because if you obtain a exam mark between the submin and 50% you get a sup. But in honours you don't get sups, so I wonder if there is really a submin of below 50%. I'm too lazy to look it up

I guess the submit min for this module is also 40%. Most of the modules is working with that figure. So if you obtained 39% for the exam, and you have an impressive 75% year mark, then you are so in trouble, as the yearmark cannot be taken into account then. That is so bad.

Just to add on the last post. To study this sucker is a real brain killer. How do you memorize 7 essays in a few days before the exam. Ouch!

To some extent, in my opinion, INF320 will help you a lot. But with INF420, you have to do extensive research on a bunch of topics. The prescribed book, is very basic on some topics, and then also extentive on other topics. You really have to work hard in this module and Google will be your new best friend. I have spend a lot of hours just to get the some info that will be relevant to your topic,

I nearly got into a panic of not finding the answer for this question, but luckily we know now where to look for. I went through chap 11 and 12 about four times (silly me) and though I overlook something somewhere. But ja, me totally forgot about the article that we had to read through the other day when doing assignment 3.

I got the same problem. It is the only question that I apparently got wrong. I have to look in the prescribed book where it was stated, and I think it is worth while quering the lecturers about this question. If we are missing something, it will be an extra hands up for the exam, but otherwise its an extra something for us .

It is definitely something new to me too. It is something like the best of both worlds "wanna be module". I like the fact that 40% of the assignments cover the year mark. That is how I passed my opengl about 2 years ago (45% for exam, and 90% for assignments!)
I think the only way to get use to this is to be patient and see how it works out. This is my final year, and to do a little ad
