mmmm Only 62% Bit disappointed with that. Thought I had done a lot better, obviously the marker didnt like the fact that I did all my calculations with out a calculator so was working purely in fractions. And if that is what cost me my marks I will be super pssd cause 3/5 is exactly the same as 0.6 But a pass is a pass so...by darrensgj@gmail.com - INF308J
If you still find that strange when working with Unisa at this level, then..... I agree that 2 is more the correct answer.by darrensgj@gmail.com - INF305F
Really hope you mean Assignment 2. Else I missed something ...... no worries, found it, tut 103by darrensgj@gmail.com - INF305F
How are you downloading them? They not like the other Tuts where you canjust click and they open, the only way I could get them is right click and save as. If that doesnt works send me your emailby darrensgj@gmail.com - INF305F
Im afraid Reanie is no longer on these forums, just finished with Unisa earlier this year so you will need to find someone else who holds her stuff.by darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3216
Ahh, was good to finally have an Exam that was set out as promised, and it was not written by someone who lied about everything. Last question was the only one I had trouble with, wrote a page of rubbish, but hopefully enough rubbish to get a couple marks. 2 more to go, (3 if you dont count the two EUP1501 as one ) then thats me done, never having to deal with UNISA again. Unless somethiby darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3216
@Jo well at least you got a reply. That is a MASSIVE step when dealing with Unisa. Probably the most important oneby darrensgj@gmail.com - INF308J
So glad Im not the only one, I didnt even both with the StepWise question or Q3. Just went onto the others. Also forgot that a calculator would be helpful, since have always just used my phone which of course is a big no no in a exam. And I will be highly miffed if they dont accept good old fractions in the answers. Hope everyone got the square root of 41 divided by 6 as their answer to the lasby darrensgj@gmail.com - INF308J
Is there a rule somewhere that states the Project Leader needs to take the critical path? And also what is forcing/stating that 2 or more developers are required for the integration stages? I never went over my answers but now that I am (yes a little late but hey..) I dont see where it states these rules? The question only states: "As project leader she would prefer to check all the desby darrensgj@gmail.com - INF308J
@Kyle, LOL pity u couldnt have reminded me that on Thursday, thats why I battled so much with COS311, spent too much time going over the past papers. @Punk Have been looking around and can only find examples of 7, thought 9 might have been used in the previous set book but there is no reference to it. So def go with 7by darrensgj@gmail.com - INF308J
@Marth; If you want bureaucracy, try writing it as a International Student, Pi$$up in a brewery by a bunch on monkeys would be less problematic. Have you guys been told when you writing the second (or first) part of the paper? Only good thing was we didnt write all the pesky practicalsby darrensgj@gmail.com - INF308J
@Kyle ... and that is why I still need to do some learning, knew it was not Embedded, so took a chance with Semi, I also thought that maybe since the volume of code is quite large, might have moved it out of the Organic type, but then again I dont remember the book ever mentioning that the volume of code having any bearing on the type.by darrensgj@gmail.com - INF308J
Think the key sentence here is "The system interface requirements are flexible" so you need to choose the correct System type. Organic - straight forward simple spec Embedded - strict, complex Semi-detached - hybrid. Since the requirements are flexible I would assume they mean Semi-detached, so would use those values for the constants. effort = c(size)k SLOC is 120,000 soby darrensgj@gmail.com - INF308J
Lets hope these are easier than 3114 Doing INF305, COS321 and then silly old EUP1501 to finish and be done with. Other times seem to vary a little.by darrensgj@gmail.com - INF308J
I hope there are a few of you who hated it? Went too slowly in beginning and didnt like any of it, concentrated too much on learning the patterns from the past papers so ignored the others Oh well maybe writing supp in Jan, are there supps? Never had to do one before?by darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3114
Good Luck everyone, and thanks to those who did more than their fair share of posts on all topics.by darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3114
@vdWestd - I disagree, if you place the signal/slot connect within the CodeVisitor code you are in fact just doing exactly what the very original code was doing, and have "coupled" to 2 class back together again. You CodeVisitor code is now totally reliant on the existence of FileVisitor class.by darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3114
Another nice site which I have found, specially the relationships, is UML Class Diagram Part1by darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3114
@roban That did cross my mind when I wrote the 2.4 answer bit, passing the filter and recursive arguments to both just didn't seem right but was thinking more more along the lines of slots and signals so missed it . 4.5 Abstract Factory can be used as an alternative to Facade to hide platform-specific classes.by darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3114
2.2 - Review I dont believe the term "completely decoupled" means seperate totally. I still think you want to allow these 2 classes to work with each other, but not be reliant on each other. For this reason I would rather have CodeVisitor::processFile(QString filename) as a slot similar to FileVisitor, this allows you to still have the 2 classes connect (work) with each if needed.by darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3114
Hey, Been going through Ezust making all my notes, (amazing how things start making sense 3rd time round) should hopefully be done by weekend after which will be going through everything here and hopefully add my 2cents worth. Thanks all for input, very much appreciated.by darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3114
Visitor Pattern | OO Designs Nice site for fairly clear descriptions and examples of Design Patterns. Since Ezust is such a kuk book, Ive had to do a fair amount of searching to find actual valid information. Just going through a couple, and seems to be more Java code examples but theory and logic should helpby darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3114
Just to let everyone know, that I have been informed that in the exam 1024 shall be used.by darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3216
Assignment 3 Question 9. Surely at this stage in our studies we are expected to know that bytes, kb, MB, and GBs are not incremented by 1000 but rather 1024? The answer to Question 9 is 32GB not 34.4GB 4,194,304 * 8192 = 34,359,738,368 bytes = 33,554,432 kb = 32,768 MB =by darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3216
Got mine today also. I nice round 33.33% WOOHOO!! Pretty good since it took me a week to get QT working on my machine, and then had only a day to do the assignment. Only managed to get the first two questions done, so cant complain too much. Except for how kuk this module has been setup.by darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3114
So far I am only submitting Q1 and 2.( Another Exam on Thur) I cant afford to be too stressed about the marks its just the "active" student problem, but since my two answers do what they wanting and its my own work it should be enough. Since I spent 60% of my time just trying to get their Qt program working hopefully they will understand.by darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3114
Thanks all, Will give those others a try after the Assignment. Have managed to get everything working, pity have only managed Q1 and 2, have exam on Thurs which I have to learn for, hopefully those will be enough to indicate im an "active" student.by darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3114
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG STUPID &*^*&%^*&(%* QT Creator Who chose this stupid Program!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have just wasted 5 hrs of my life.... Qt Creator is the biggest load of rubbish, Been stepping through my code in debug mode for like 5 hrs, and getting such random results without ever changing the code. HAHA, I have read that question about 100 times and I never noticed that. I always just read it as "to specify if each file visited and its size should be displayed" Hope thats what it meansby darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3114
Ok please could someone explain how the file filters work in the codevisitor example. I can only find files if I add the switch and argument -f "*.h" Now since this switch is optional you would think that leaving it off would result in all files being searched, but this does not seem to be the case. Also if I use other formats like "*.*" or "*" I only get EXE filby darrensgj@gmail.com - COS3114
