This is one time consuming SOB moduleby BigSteve - COS3216
Hey guys , just noticed something else, in the solutions for the assignments , all the questions that involved doing joins used the older style non ANSI joins instead of the ANSI standard\SQL:1999 compliant joins. eg: A2Q7A non ansi style joining in the where clause ============================= create table EMPDATA as select e.employee_id ID, e.first_name ||' '||e.last_nameby BigSteve - INF307H
think it is similar to A2Q11 select employee_id, last_name, salary from employees e where 3 > (select count (*) from employees where e.salary < salary) order by salary desc; except for the products it will be: select product_name , unit_price from products p where 3 > (select count(*) from products where p.unit_price < unit_price) order by unit_price desc;by BigSteve - INF307H
anyone else still waiting the results for assign 2 ?by BigSteve - INF303D
Cool , thanks I did some research and found out about ROWNUM , however was not sure if we could use it a i did not see it the manuals , will check again.by BigSteve - INF307H
Has anyone done this question yet ? How did you restrict the selection to 3 rows ?by BigSteve - INF307H

Hi Guys Must say I have grown to like the QT framework, it also seems to be used is a few places, have a look at Wiki I don’t think the problem with this module is the QT framework , having been involved with programming and C++ for a few years I must say I do find the book to be a bit vague at times however the QT documentation available at trolltech.com seems to be pretty complete along wby BigSteve - COS2144
Has anyone started looking at Assignment 3 yet ? Seems that there are some tricky questions.by BigSteve - COS2144
Ho you guys doing with this assignment ? I have managed to complete Question 2(SliderLCD) and Question 3 (Observer Pattern Auction) , still have a couple of questions about Question 1 , how did you implement the member functions of the FilmList Class , from my understanding the findfilm and getid functions need to access the private members of the Film Class (i.e. the m_filmid and the m_titlby BigSteve - COS2144
from the UML diagram , seems that the FilmList class should be derrived from QList and not QStringList ? Not sure i understand what has to happen here, i think that the FilmList class should be declared as a template class, i.e template <class Type> class FilmList: public QList<Type> { public: QString toString() const; Type* findFilm(QString id); QString getID(QStrby BigSteve - COS2144
OK , after struggling with this error for many hours i finally decided to call Unisa and ask someone. It seems that when you use templates you have to include the code for the header file and the implementation file in one file and not split the two up i.e. do not try and create the LinkedList.cpp and a LinkedList.h in two separate files but rather include the code for both in the LinkedLisby BigSteve - COS211X
Hi Guys Just Started assignment 2 today , getting a couple of linker errors when i try and compile the project: undefined reference to `linkedListType<int>::linkedListType()' The individual files i.e. linkedlist.h , linkedlist.cpp and the main file all compile fine on their own, which leads me to believe there is something wrong specifically with the linker. I created a neby BigSteve - COS211X
For Assignment 2 question 2 just a quick question , are you guys creating a derrived class from the base class linkedListType and then adding the extended functions to the new class, or are you just adding the extended functions to the existing linkedListType class ?by BigSteve - COS211X
