Hi,
once you have the equation you can get as much points as you want, just take some values for x and y then get the z value (in 3D case)
for example,
3x+2y+z=0
take x=1, y=0
you get z = -3 so you got the point (1,0,-3)
as for w.x=treshhold, the x means the input vector. i.e. x=(x,y,z) (the first x should be in bold for the vector)

Hi,
the separating plane is the plane with equation w.x = threshhold
i.e W is the norm vector and a point can be obtained from the above equation
ex:
(2,0,0).(x,y,z)=2 <=> 2x=2
the norm vecor is (2,0,0) and a point by which the plane passes is:
(1,0,0)
hope this helps...

Hi everyone,
For question 4 of the sample paper,
I found the following final graph when a node of depth 4 is to be expanded:
G = {1,2,3,6,7,10,11,4,8,12,13,9,5}
As for OPEN = {10,13,6,9,11,12}
and CLOSED = {1,2,3,4,5,7,8}
For Question 5
I found AB(A, -infinity, infinity)=1
and the cut off nodes are node G and hence O and P and it is an alpha cutoff.
I am a bit stuck on questi

Hi,
I think I got the same results...
Actually this is a good idea, let's compare our results for the whole paper since we won't be given a memo

Hi everyone,
I think that there is a mistake in assignment 1: question07 says exercise 8.5 page 137 however 8.5 in on page 138 of the prescribed book?! I don't know if they meant exercise 8.3 on page 137 or ex 8.5 on page 138?

Hi every,
Please do you think it is safe to use the 7ed? Can any one make a small comparison and see if there are big differences?
