Yeah, it's quite a bit of work to get through. I started going a bit late, and found myself struggling to complete assignment 1. But it's quite interesting.by pruthven - COS430B

72 - did NOT expect that..i'm sooo happy - it was the last module needed for my degree! Congrats to everything who passed!by pruthven - INF320E
Congrats guys, also made it! And now only one remains...by pruthven - INF303D
Congrats guys, a pass for me as well - 4 more to go...what I'm reeaaally waiting for is INF320, time will tell.by pruthven - INF305F
broad...and broad.. I pm'ed a lecturer to have a look at this thread and to provide feedback on some of the concernsby pruthven - INF320E
The basis for my complaint is the following Tutorial 101 states: "The syllabus for this module is covered in the 15 chapters of the prescribed book. Not all of this material will be covered in detail." - without further indication as to what will not be covered. As for Tutorial 501 - it is outdated. A lot of the Unit Outcomes are based on the previous prescribed book - not a reliby pruthven - INF320E
I really think we should lodge a formal complaint as to how this module was handled, and the lack of guidance for our exam preparation. Also regarding the questions in the exam we had issues with. What do you think?by pruthven - INF320E
What was question 1.2 again? Trying to add up possibly marks...by pruthven - INF320E
geez..what was that?! really not cool. i also agree on chapter 9, those 10 marks..really unfair! Also heuristics...really?? They really made this one difficult to study for without giving us a CLEAR guide as to what is important - T102 was very vague - and even though we tried to follow it they still surprised us. I mean honestly, this module has A LOT of theory - we can't possiblby pruthven - INF320E
So TraceyB, how's the panic going? Mine's flaring up again...trying to keep calm and just cram some more details inby pruthven - INF320E
They give you the subheadings you can use, as you'll see in chapter 5 like "...,persuasive technologies, anthropomorphism, interface agents" Example: anthropomorphism: attributing human like qualities to objects people accept and enjoy objects with human-like qualities can make interactive systems fun and enjoyable to interact with, motivate people to carry out tasksby pruthven - INF320E

Looks like everybody is hard at work studying Mild panic..I'm really not paying much attention to chapters 4,6,9,15 - so hope I don't get any surprises there. Going to bed now, will continue tomorrow morning. Good luck to those burning the midnight oil!by pruthven - INF320E
The update did the trick, but thanks for all the effort!by pruthven - INF320E

there's a download now button right at the bottom - click it, then wait 30 seconds, the link will appearby pruthven - INF320E
thanks malberts! I'm sure everyone will find this useful! Just one problem, the PDF doesn't display any text, but it does show lines, bullets etc...looks like a font problem. Could someone else tell me if it's working for them please?by pruthven - INF320E
Chapter 2 Discuss the pros and cons of using interface metaphors as conceptual models. I'd say the pros are: * Makes learning new systems easier * Helps users understand the underlying conceptual model * Can be innovative and enable the realm of computers and their applications to be made more accessible to a greater diversity of users And I think these are also from the 1st Ed (by pruthven - INF320E
Looks like some of the unit outcomes are still based on the previous book Some PDFs I stumbled on: http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~frk/frank/da/hci/ <- looks like the 1st Edition of the book Chapter 1 • Outline the different forms of guidance used in interaction design. Design principles Usability principles (Listed in 1st Ed, chapter 1)by pruthven - INF320E
nm, missed that you said chapter objectivesby pruthven - INF320E
Thanks for all your effort! I'll go through it and try and give some feedback as well Where did you get the questions?by pruthven - INF320E
