So by the sounds of it, I did pretty well with my distinction (made it by 4%!)

I BELIEVE they said somewhere it was 70% for distinction and 50% for pass, but I could be wrong. (as opposed to 80% distinction and the 40% pass we're used to in High School)

That would be our total result mark, as the assignment 3 counted 30% of that mark.
But I'd still REALLY love to know what we got for both the exam and assignment separately.

Well,
I think the exam went quite well myself, although I hope that Toby can read hieroglyphics - because that's the closest thing my handwriting resembles. Wrote in Pretoria, only had a handful of classmates as well.
Oh, also, could you tell us when we should start checking for exam results? Thanks,
Gareth

Hi Toby,
I'd just like to verify, with regards to CSS in the exam, how technical will it be? Will it be like basic questions about the nature and function of CSS or will we need to be able to code detailed paragraphs in CSS? Will it be a big part, and will we need to know it inside and out? I already know Javascript will (thankfully) be relatively simple, just not sure on CSS.
Thanks,

Hi,
I was wondering, for assignment2.htm, are we specifically meant to hand-code it, or is dreamweaver allowed? Only reason I'm asking is because Dreamweaver is loads of fun so far and I'm itching to try it out in a real-world webpage, but if it negatively impacts our marks or you'd rather we do it all by hand, I'm more than happy. Just thought I'd check first.

Hi,
Just a quick one, I'm trying to find out what to study in regards to Javascript, for example, will we only need to know how to write basic things to screen in Javascript or will we have to be able to include Javascript in our pages (as it says in Assignment2.pdf)? Also, how much will CSS feature in the exam?
Thanks,
G.

Hey,
I've got a quick question about assignment 1 - I've followed all the instructions, and I've done everything required, but my web-page still seems a bit... bland. Is this assignment just so you guys can see that we can do basic HTML coding, or is there any benefit to making Frames or fancy design styles, even though they're not required? Would it be better just to stick

I can say, in all seriousness, that the CSS section seems to assume that the person studying it has already done a course in CSS - I found HTML was well-explained until the last quarter, and Javascript isn't too bad either (until later on, once again...), but CSS makes no sense. Maybe I just have the IQ of a shoelace, and nobody else finds this a problem.
For anybody who does, I found thi

Still, thankfully, there's always more than one way to scalp a cowboy and many other places in the world will happily ship things overseas. Alternatively, make a friend in the U.S. and get them to buy the things then post them to you themselves... More trouble than it's worth, maybe, but effective nonetheless.

I don't know, you would have thought that between Vodacom and MTN's competition, they would drastically reduce cellular rates to try outdo each other. It's almost like they agreed to both charge through the roof, but offer different rip-off deals. Almost like "If we both charge ridiculously, people won't know any better and will HAVE to pay a high price." Cell-C then

You know, the funniest versions of hackers have got to be the l33t h4x0rz, the ones who th1nk th3y c4n d0 anyth1ng 0n d4 1nt3rn3t. Anyway, before visiting hacking sites, make sure some solid virus protection is enabled on your system as many of these sites contain viruses embedded into the site code than do all sorts of damage.
Anyway, hacking takes on literally thousands of variations, includ

Try www.somethingawful.com/jeffk/
Apart from the fact that we're BLASTED BY CAPITAL LETTERS, with only one font, that remains nearly the same size and colour through the whole site...
Apart from the ugly page design and terrible colour scheme...
Apart from the incoherent, unintelligible babbling by the author...
Apart from the lack of a coherent web-site structure...

Hey,
If it's still giving you endless hassles I could e-mail you a word document with your posting in it. Would it be any help?

Hi,
If you mean what I think you mean, then simply highlight the text you've written, press Ctrl and C simultaneously, then you go to your Word Document and press Ctrl and V simultaneously once again. This is what you meant, isn't it..?
Cheers,

Hello everyone,
Seems like I'm the first July student to be posting here, and since this is my first thread, want to say Hi to everyone joining me on this course.
I especially want to say hi to everyone currently finishing off this course, and ask... Guys, if you can give some really good advice in hindsight about what we're about to be going through, please give it here. Anything
