submission procedure portfolio

Please read the submission document and follow the guidelines/rules there, e.g. do not submit via myUnisa, ensure your site is available, and if not email... etc.

Some students submit a (dummy) URL, then wait for results, get code from a fellow student, then claim their site was deleted. Others submit, take their time to complete the assignment/portfolio, and then claim their site has been deleted.

Then I am accused of being unfair sad smiley

The rules are clear - follow them. I cannot make a single exception because that would be unethical and unfair to students who bring their part. And 98% of students do so without any problem.

Why do you want to leave your old page there? Just rename it index_.php

We need to go directly to your site please - we do not want to navigate to get there

You cannot have 2 pages with the same name.

If you upload another page named index.php, it will overwrite the existing one.

I do not have access to your details, so make sure you read their document carefully and use the correct details. That is all I can suggest.

You probably need to have a password set for the account.

Hi nigerboy17,

Answering "any idea how to correct it":

I believe much web hosting companies they give you access to a portal where you can setup your database. So in this case if you can access your web hosting account database you need create a user name to access the database and grant it all priveledeges on the database that is create, delee, insert, update and so on. After that you need now to edit your connection page so that it have the correct user name for the database and correct password on the web hosting server.
OR
ELSE
You need to create the same database with the same name and same user and same password like on the hosting on local machine, this will minimize errors because you dont need edit anything. When you run your test on the local server and if everything is working you are sure that it will work on the remote server as welll since all connection details are the same.

If you need more help please shout.

From the tut letter:

You may also Google for other free web hosting services offering PHP and MySQL. Use the following query in Google: “Free web hosting php mysql”.

Hi

I also found the same issue and so decided that I am going to host my own web server.

I created a dynamic dns account(no-ip.com) to point to my router for my changing password
configured php to listed on the port and as I have the website on another port
Natted the port to my computer.
