That error normally means your SQL query is incorrect. Copy the query over to phpmyadmin and run it there to see if the query renders a result.

I agree with Metalaniac, there is a problem with your query.

By my experiance it sounds like the problem is incorrect values in your parameters, meaning you are passing & catching "incompatible" info.

Paste your query function code and the code were you are calling it.
