@ C Reddy: I am using Xampplite-win32-1.7.3.exe, (win7 64bit pro). Xampp has a nice control panel to manage your services. See attached. If you click the "port-check" button you see what services on your computer are using the port required by Xampp. (one of my games update engines was preventing Apache from running) To my knowledge, No, the MySql only has a admin web interface, not a cli. But PHP does have a cli.
Yes I had a password issue once with MySql because I assigned a password to the admin interface and I could not remember how to change it,,, re-installed resolved my problem. Regards, Jared
