Site availability for URL (Portfolio)

What happens if, the portfolio has been loaded, URL created and all works wonderfully. However, when it is time for the portfolio to be marked, the web site is not available? I ask this as we have no control over a hosting site nor when will the portfolio be marked.
I merrily checked up on my site today and the web page was not available.....needless to say the panic and drama that followed.
A while later...all was working well.

The lecturer will keep trying the site for a couple of days, to take into account that the hosting service might be down

Yes. He mentioned this in another post on here in another thread which I'm struggling to find with the search function now, but he definately mentioned it.

Confirmed. He mentioned that he will check the site again and again if unsuccessful at first...
