Operating Systems help needed
October 16, 2013 03:58PM
Sorry in advance for possibly posting this in the wrong place.

Due to lecturers not taking part in module discussions on myUnisa... I now have come to the clever people for help smiling smiley

Im writing OPS401I next Monday (Operating Systems)

And the one question from a previous paper I am a bit stuck on is:
Consider a computer system with 3 GB main memory, given that the OS occupies 1 GB of main memory and that each process on average occupies 512 MB of main memory.
What is the maximum degree of multiprogramming supported by the system?
Show your workout. [4]

Please?

I doubt you'll get a response in this specific forum... it was intended for M and PhD.

Also, remember that tut letters are copyrighted, so distributing it is a no-no. It should be downloaded from myUnisa which is a controlled environment i.e. you are registered, have paid for stuff, and is allowed access to it. Just the way it works. Maybe in future Open Access will kick in - there is talk about it.
Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
