Work out your mark
April 02, 2012 08:09AM
The problem with providing a solution is that some 2nd semester students of course wait to pound on it, so in all probability a new assignment will be drawn up. I will make the solution available later. However, the problem is not so much the code required, - consider the following info given to markers.

• If there are no links to text files containing the code, but they have sent their code per email, then their final mark is marked down by 50%.
• If neither is present, then just mark the student – I will take a decision.
• If the code does not open in a new window, then their final mark is marked down by 20%.
• If their code is not commented, then their final mark is marked down by 30%
• If there are no menu links, then their final mark is marked down by 30%.

Take time to read the assignment requirements. Part of the assignment/portfolio is to apply what you have learned in earlier modules.

Ok. Sir will forwarding the previously sent email be enough proof (because it has the dates on it) and how will I know this time if the proof was received?

Keep a record of your submissions. It will be sorted out in time. This is an an fortunate problem with portfolios - there is no reliable system in place. If I have to report back hereon each submission it will keep me busy for days. So the best I can do I list the ones I did not receive. The onus is then on you to email me. Not post here.

Re: Work out your mark

Dear Sir

I really panicked when I checked this forum and my assignment is registered as never received. I have forwarded you the e-mail and proof of submission via MyUnisa. I was wondering why I received all the marks for other assignments, but this one. I have been reading all the updates on this forum and I hope that you consider marking mine. I'm not quite certain what this means for me and my marks for the 1st assignment.

Is assignment 1 going to be marked again because it is still part of portfolio?

Re: Work out your mark
May 07, 2012 01:07PM
Well, if you have the proof it was sent in time then it will be marked. Ass1 will not be marked again
Re: Work out your mark
May 07, 2012 01:20PM
Then if assignment 1 is not going to be marked again why did you said those assignment 1 pages must be included in the portfolio ?

Re: Work out your mark
May 07, 2012 04:16PM
That does not mean I am going to mark it again, does it?
Re: Work out your mark
May 07, 2012 04:23PM
No it doesn't but what if I leave them out will that have a negative impact towards my results? I think you should just allow us to exclude the Assignment 1 pages on the portfolio that way it will make some sense and we could be able to deferentiate between the two thus assignment 1 and portfolio.

This is just my suggestion

I do not understand why you are having such a problem with this. Is it too much effort for you to include the code? Why does it bother you? Just do it. It is my prerogative.

Okay cool, like I said it is just a suggestion I'm not complaining.

Good on you then smiling smiley
Re: Work out your mark
May 07, 2012 04:37PM
Another thing is that please next time choose advanced systems to develop like where we can upload pictures to the system, create reports pages where user can choose which format to print from e.g pdf,rtf..., maybe even play videos on the system or sound, I think that way it will be advanced PHP smiling smiley

Oh and again it is just a suggestion

You live in cuckoo-land.... you cannot go that route in 6 months (2613 and 3612 - work it out). Well, perhaps you can, but then it is one less student I have to worry about. No comments - I have a research paper to prepare, meetings to attend, students who wake up late to contend with, bored students (like you). And a life. I have now been going for 11.5 hours....
Sorry, you do not have permission to post/reply in this forum.
