Do not be too concerned about assignment 1 marks - I use it really just to get a mark in because I have to. End of the year I relook at it all as part of your portfolio mark.

Uhm... just saw I have not installed it on Desktop yet either... gave it a go and got same following error messages:

FIRST SCREEN:
Microsoft Expression Studio Setup has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

SECOND SCREEN:
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.[A]XSetupLic.ConfigLicense cannot be cast to {B}XSetupLic.ConfigLicense. Type A originates from 'XSetupLic, Version=4.0.20525.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' in the context 'LoadNeither' at location 'C:\Documents and Settings\MMyburgh\Local Settings\Temp\_PA186\Setup\XSetupLic.Dll'. Type B originates from 'XSetupLic, Version=4.0.20525.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' in the context 'Default' at location 'C:\DOCUME~1\MMyburgh\LOCALS~1\Temp\_PA186\Setup\XSetupLic.dll'.

Only difference was PA664 in error on Desktop.

The only solution I found pertaining to Expression Studio + Error msg is on a Ukrainian site ( http://dwnld.net.ua/viewtopic.php?t=3024065&start=30 ) - not my strongest language... and another on a Forum around Expression Studio 3 ( http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.expression.discussion/browse_thread/thread/dc64f249c12b1c1a/1612b7dcf09f55c5 )

What I also picked up is that you have to have Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Client Profile + Extended) installed which I did still to no effect.

Any ideas whereto from here?

Thanks.

Mmm.... not really.

But I tried to Google this
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.[A]XSetupLic.ConfigLicense cannot be cast to {B}XSetupLic.ConfigLicense.
and came upon this

Thank you for your URL references. I did extract the .iso first and then ran setup - still a no-go. I'm going to try and install each component on it's own, just need to figure out which files to run when.

Also found this on Microsoft Support

APPLIES TO: Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0
Keywords: kberrmsg kbbug kbfix kbqfe kbnetframe100presp3fix KB328560
(how's that for gobbledygook!)

But we're running this on MS.NET FW4.0

Will keep you up to date on any progress made

Light at the end of the tunnel spinning smiley sticking its tongue out
Installed each component on it's own and all but Blend said "Product is already Activated". Blend asks for a product key, won't accept activation code and on clicking Cancel, just shuts down. confused smiley Still Googling that one
Anyone else had any luck installing complete product?
