Material for this module
March 10, 2010 03:13PM
I'm working on my planning for the year and just want to confirm that I'm understanding the tutorial correctly.

We have to study chapter 1-11, parts of 13, and 14-15 and the first batch of articles on pg 7 (under the first heading)

We only have to read chapter 12 and the remaining sections of chapter 13 the second batch of articles on pg 7

Is it just me or is this a lot more work than the other modules?

To be expected I suppose, but wow

Correct - the understanding part.

More work? The main thing is to understand how it all fits together - read Part 1 on page 1 and 2 (it sounds obvious that you must read it, but it really puts the work into perspective). A good top-down summary using and focussing on the orange bold-faced words will make it much easier.... if you all work toegther it will indeed be a handy set of notes. At the top of each chapter's summary you work in the information from Part 1, and so on down. You are 83 registered, so it should go quick. Then it is all about reading the articles, and making the connections between that, your experience and the handbook. It is a practical discipline.

Something like this - you get the idea. Point is, you want to have an overall view of where it fits.

Nice to see a lecturer in this forum grinning smiley

The work may seem a lot, but it is no more than 425 was, or 483. But it is more than, say, 431 and 462.

Then again, it has a lot of overlap with other modules, so, as mac says, it is about "connections" - I have the feeling things will slot together nicely across the modules in this course.

I must be missing something with 483 then, because that doesn't seem like that much confused smiley

It is more like 482 from what I can see.

okay, I am in Cape Town, and just started doing this module/long distance learning.

How do we find material, assignments, etc. Do we wait for it to be mailed or can we find it else where??

Thanks
