Saide offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to various educational projects throughout sub-
Saharan Africa. Established in 1992, Saide strives to increase access to quality cost-effective, education,
especially to more marginalised communities, through the appropriate use of distance education and
different technologies. Saide has particular interest in open education resources. Saide is a non-profit
organization that maintains its sustainability through commissioned and donor funded projects.
Saide seeks to appoint an Education Programme Specialist to join a dynamic and highly professional
organization, with an established track record of contributing to educational transformation in South
Africa and the region. The work is project based and ranges over all education sectors. The incumbent
will be based in Johannesburg, and will: Design, lead or contribute to educational projects focused on capacity building in course design
and development; make optimal and appropriate use of educational technologies for large scale provision.

Applicants should be highly professional and hold at least an honours degree or equivalent;
have effective academic writing skills and the ability to use ICTs for communication and research
have effective workshop facilitation and oral communication skills;
exercise initiative, be flexible, highly organised and hardworking;
enjoy working in teams as well as independently;
be prepared to travel locally and in the region.
Expertise in higher or further education would be an advantage.
Remuneration will be commensurate with skills and experience.
