basicgerm, can you pleeease email the Tut101 to me? I am in the same predicament as cbrunsdonza... It's been nearly 20 days since I registered and my registration is still "in progress". Might be another 20 days until I actually receive the course material by post!!

I can't even access the download-site either (I haven't received my COSALL tut)... so I would really appreciate your help.

Hi guys...

If there's any of you whose registration is still "in progress", you should give UNISA a call on their call-centre number and have them look into it.

I had simply assumed that the delay was due to an influx of last-minute registrations, however, after phoning them I found out that they received my registration request on the 8th Jan 2010 but "forgot to activate it"!!!

By the way, the entire call lasted under five minutes and my registration was confirmed while I was still on the phone with them!

Firstly I don't think it's a good thing that we post the answers in the open, it's really not going to help others come exam time. Not sure how the process of discussing assignments should work. Maybe edit and remove the link you posted. So others do attempt it.

Most of your answers are right but I think you got 11 and 15 incorrect.

11. A
(D is incorrect because they assign the value to lblAnswer and not lblAnswer.Caption)
(D is also incorrect because they do not convert the double to a string, which will leave you with "Incompatible Types".

15. D. (Both B and C are correct)
Statement B is correct because you cannot use a variable if you do not declare it.
Statement C is correct because if you declare a variable in 1 procedure you cannot use it in procedure 2, hence "limited scope". If you declare the variable globally you can use it in multiple procedures within the program.

Confirmation:
10. D (All 3 statements are true)
The items property of a listbox contains "TStrings".
You can add and remove items with Listbox.Items.Delete(X) and Listbox.Items.Add('Test';
When you add items to a listbox they are added onto the end.

Unsure:
6. I am not sure about this. It's a very vague question.
I'm leaning towards D (TLabel) because the label components on the page give examples of what each button does.
Could also be the bold font used on the buttons which would make it E (None of the above).

I do not recall question 5's answer in chapters 1 to 4, which is what assignment 1 should cover. I found it on page 488?
Did I miss something?

OK, I'm now registered for Semester 1 after UNISA admin screw up ... will contribute towards this thread this weekend when I jump into the work
