For my login process to work correctly I see that I need to have my browser set to accept cookies, specifically for the PHPSESSID cookie (Google's Chrome gives you a nice easy way to view this cookie).

If I block all cookies the login process just runs in a loop and never gets to index.php as it should (as described on page 370 of the textbook).

Question: Is it ok to set the browser to accept cookies so that the login process can work correctly?

Cookies are not bad despite what people say. Some just monitor your behaviour, so it is a privacy thing more than anything else.
