Generally I found that the prices vary quite substasily. Depending of course on what domain you would like to use.

Domain names are generally only leased from the Domain registrar for 1 year, after that the domain name can be leased for another year.

For example .co.za domains:

Imaginet offers free domain registration if you use their hosting service.
eConsultant charges R199 annually for your domain registration.

Mostly there is a once of registration fee and then a yearly subscription fee. Mostly the price varies from R100 to R200.

Depending on the type of domain wants to register determines the cost of that domain name.

To register a co.za domain at Uniform SA it costs you R50 per year registration cost.

To register a law.za domain at Law Society of the Cape of Good Hope it costs you an initial R300 followed by a R100 annual fee.

There is a website ZA Nic www.za.net who provide you as an individual with domain name for free (za.net or za.org).

Does anyone elsehave problems to connect to the server?
I did connect easily after following the steps outlined....but just the first time and then I could not find the right file or folder in which to download from my computer. The second connection was harder because my computer had to make more attempts to connect and then after that each attempt was unsuccesful. Please give me advice if possible or else how must I complete the pre assignment tasks?
