## Update: found the file online from the original publisher's website:
element k
079169dd.exe
You will have to create the user scott manually. (not sure if you require this user, I did not create it yet.)
Also change the first line to: CONNECT system/PASSWORD;

So, got the courseware, installed Oracle and now I'm stuck.

Where is the setup files?
nothing on myUnisa or the CD...
Also nothing on Osprey.

btw. this version of Oracle does not install on Vista.
There is a version of 10g that does, it's only about 800 Megs of download.
Wanted to get 11g, but that is 1.7 GB!

Hi,

Has anyone got any information on removing or re-installing the Oracle database on Win XP? Mine is totally corrupted and while TUT101 refers to instructions being available (page 13, last sentence), I can't find a thing.

It certainly doesnt 'uninstall' like normal programs as I can't find it in the list in control panel

Thanks,

Dave

If it is just the databases itself that are corrupt from playing around and doing stuff. You can re-run the scripts. It will drop the user and recreate the whole database. Otherwise us the oracle program manager in the xp start menu. I cannot remember the correct name but it is somewhere in the oracle menu.

Hi Cobus,

On a previous post you mentioned that you could cut a copy of the UNISA CD provided with the Prescribed Text Book, I also have the problem that the CD is damaged and cannot read from it.
Which area are you in?
Masterskill are not delivering it.
